HERS offers the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) as designed by American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). It is an 80 hour curriculum designed to orient candidates towards challenging medical coding conventions and CPC certification. The course covers review of human anatomy, medical terminology, ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS. The students are offered mid-term and pre-final practice exams with enough quizzes and timed tests. The session ends with an eight hour review/exam preparation class followed by AAPC certification exam
The final exam is a five hour proctored, open book exam. There are three sections and students are required to pass all three sections with a minimum of 70% in each section. Unsuccessful students may retake the exam in a period of next twelve months at no extra cost.
INSTRUCTOR American Academy of Professional Coders has recognized and approved Deepa Malhotra MS CPC as a certified instructor for this curriculum. |
